This exhibit by Carrie Riehl documents her recent travels to Indochina and the thoughts inspired by the trip. Her work explores the assimilation of Western accommodations into Eastern culture through various avenues of colonialism, tourism, and commodification. Through a collection of photographs, paintings, drawings, and artifacts, Riehl portrays the culture shock that Westerners bring to foreign lands, as well as the striking exchanges Easterners impress upon them in return.
Stop by for the opening reception 6-9pm, Friday, April 26th.
The show runs through Friday, June 14th.
