April 26-June 14: Nicolas Gogan – Staring at Us Staring at Them

4-2

This exhibit by Nicolas Gogan documents his recent travels to Indochina and the thoughts inspired by the trip. His work explores the assimilation of Western accommodations into Eastern culture through various avenues of colonialism, tourism, and commodification. Through a collection of photographs, paintings, drawings, and artifacts, Gogan portrays the culture shock that Westerners bring to foreign lands, as well as the striking exchanges Easterners impress upon them in return.

Stop by for the opening reception 6-9pm, Friday, April 26th.
The show runs through Friday, June 14th.
